Human barriers to success

Existing organisations can present a range of barriers to the effective implementation of employee involvement initiatives.

Consideration must be given to :

  • the extent to which the culture of the organisation will allow employee involvement
  • the commitment of line management and supervisors
  • the current style(s) of management approach in dealing with employees
  • the level of trust that exists between employees and their managers
  • the appropriateness of the policies and mechanisms of employee involvement for the operational arrangements of the organisation
    the deployment of the workforce.
