A list of control measures has been mapped out in the Approved Code of Practice to the COSHH Regulations.

The code of practice measures are:

• Prevent exposure by discontinuing the hazardous activity altogether.
• Substitute the activity for a less hazardous one.
• Enclose the hazardous activity or separate the activity from the people by other means.
• Reduce the numbers of people exposed to the hazard.
• Reduce the period of exposure.
• Provide personal protective equipment
